Marzocchi Bomber Z2 1997–2002: Z2 Bomber, BAM, Alloy, Atom Bomb, X-Fly and Atom Race – seal kit per year, parts list, exploded drawing, oil volumes and manuals.
The Z2 was the short-travel sister of the Z1 in the first Bomber range. Marzocchi announced it in 1996 ahead of Eurobike, and the parts lists start with model year 1997: the Z2 Bomber with 30 mm stanchions, 65 mm travel and coil springs. The Z2 name ran until 2002 with the Atom Race.
This page covers the classic Z2 of 1997–2002 only. The Marzocchi Bomber Z2 sold since 2018 is a Fox-era trail fork with 34 mm stanchions and a different damper — most “Bomber Z2 service” videos on YouTube are about that fork, not this one.

Which seal kit fits my Z2?
1997–1999 (Z2 Bomber, Alloy, Atom Bomb, BAM, Light, SuperFly): 30 mm classic — Seal Kit – 30mm classic (DZ-SK-30C). The 1999 Alloy, Atom and BAM are confirmed by both the parts list and the seal chart; 1997–1998 come from the chart.
2000–2001 (Atom, X-Fly, Atom Race, Atom Sport): the parts lists confirm 30 mm but do not show whether the seal is the classic or the m-arch type. Compare your old seal or ask us with a photo.
All classic Bombers run SAE 7.5 fork oil. Unlike most forks, the early Z2 takes a different amount in each leg:
1997 Z2 Bomber: right leg 75 cc, left leg 85 cc (EBH 16 / SAE 7.5); oil level 50 mm below the top of the stanchion, fork fully compressed.
1999 Z2 Atom Bomb: 75 / 85 cc; Z2 BAM: 90 / 100 cc; Z2 Alloy: 80 / 90 cc.
2000 Z2 Atom 80: 90 / 100 cc, level 40 mm.
2000 Z2 X-Fly 80: 60 cc per leg plus 7 cc lubrication oil.
2001 Z2 Atom Race: level 30 mm.
Drawing, parts list and manuals
The exploded drawing and the parts list below are for the 1999 Z2 BAM. The documents section holds the 1997–2002 Z2 parts lists, technical documents and instruction manuals; all of them are also in the fork documentation library. In the years above, the Z2 takes the same 30 mm seal kit as the Bomber Z1 of the same year.
